Volunteer Park Cafe Is Up for Sale
More change coming to Seattle’s restaurant scene? It looks like Capitol Hill’s beloved daytime destinationVolunteer Park Cafe是for sale as part of a $1.7 million real estate package,according toCapitol Hill Seattle. The cafe has served outstanding comfort food like banana brioche French toast, a daily quiche, and sandwiches for 13 years (and recently appeared on Eater Seattle’slist of vital breakfast spots to know). It will remain open until there’s a buyer, but fans should take heart — owner Ericka Burkeindicated a desireto find someone who will keep the cafe running and maintain its welcoming, community spirit.
Greenlake Bar & Grill Makes a Comeback
Time for a burger flip in Green Lake. After two years of operating as an outpost ofLunchbox Lab,Greenlake Bar & Grillannounced its coming back, aiming to reopen January 27 after some touch-ups to the space at 7200 East Green Lake Drive North. The grill had been opened for 17 years before it closed in 2018 for the Lab, with a menu that leans heavily toward bar bites, such as tacos and burgers. There will be seating for 100 and an outdoor, dog-friendly patio for about 40 more, when the weather gets warmer.
Topgolf Introduces Its Fancy New Kirkland Lounge
Those who want to hit the virtual links have a new spot to try on the Eastside. This week,Topgolf Entertainment Group— a global sports company — is debuting its newLounge by Topgolfat the Kirkland Urban complex. The space will have a 9,200 square foot restaurant (with food such as beignets, nachos, and other snacks), a cocktail bar, an indoor lounge, and an outdoor patio. But the real attraction is the virtual golf bays, where patrons can pretend they’re out on the course without dealing with tricky things like weather.
