With restaurants nowpermitted to openfor dine-in service, operators across the city are figuring out what it means for them. Some never closed; some adapted to COVID-19’s reshaping of the city withrestaurant delivery,meal kits, and whole new brands. Othersspoke last week of their plansto bring customers back into their dining rooms.

Status:Open for dine-in and takeaway salt beef, schnitzel, and latkes.

Taste of Pakistan Restaurant

Where:369 Hanworth Road, Hounslow TW4 5LF
Status:Open for dine-in and takeaway service, with northwestern Pakistani dishes including coriander seed-flecked chapli kebabs.

Gana

Yasmina Restaurant and Bakery

Status:East Acton’s man’oushe royalty never closed, slinging out lighter-than-air breads throughout lockdown.

Aladin Kebabish

Status:Having never closed for takeaway, Aladin Kebabish is back serving the Pakistani “holy trinity”: haleem, nihaari, and Karachi qorma, for dine-in.

Sam Sandwiches

Status:Some of the greatest Algerian sandwiches andLondonsandwiches in the city, now open for leaning while it’s made as well as delivery.

Balady

Status:The sabich slingers never closed, keeping the local community stocked up on its speciality and superb chips — now reopened for dine-in.

Normah’s

Status:Normah’s has now reopenedfollowing refurbishment and during a crowdfunding campaign.

Namak Mandi

Where:25 Upper Tooting Road, Tooting Bec SW17 7TS
Status:Now reopened for dine-in, customers can again herald the boat-like chapli kebabs, or engage in a socially distanced whole lamb feast.

Status:Seto reopened for takeaway on 22 June, and will return for dine-in service, weekends only, from 22 July, ladling out the ethereally light ramen soups that make it such a hit.

Hala Restaurant

Status:Fully reopened, with staff in visors and masks serving the generous plates that make it such a Green Lanes institution.

La Barra

Status:Open for its sublime Dominican pica pollo since 11 May, takeaway from 11 a.m. — 6 p.m.

Rao Deli

Where:304 Borough High Street, Borough SE1 1JJ
Status:Has reopened for dine-in, adding Mondays to the rotation to take part fully in Eat Out to Help Out.

Zeret Kitchen

Where:216-218 Camberwell Road, Camberwell SE5 0ED
Status:Having served Camberwell its outstanding lentil dishes and Ethiopian stews through lockdown for takeaway, it has now reopened, in limited capacity, for dine-in.

Tasty Jerk

Status:Open for takeaway jerk chicken and pork with rice and peas from the oil drums in SE25.

Nandine

Status:While its sibling on Camberwell Church Street has reopened for delivery, Nandine has not confirmed the status of its Vestry Road original.

The Bash Restaurant Cafe Bar

Status:Not yet reopened for dining in, but has been offering takeaway Congolese dishes throughout lockdown.

The Genet Cafe - Ethiopian Restaurant

Status:Reopened but call ahead to confirm, as this is an owner-only operation and the range of Ethiopian dishes sings for it.

Alhaji Suya

Status:This address is not for the original Alhaji Suya in Peckham, which is set to reopen in a couple of months’ time, but for the suya outlet it has opened at its kilishi production facility — a dried beef snack dredged in yaji.
