It looks like the Rascal space on La Brea won’t be down long. The eight-year-old neighborhood gastropubclosed last week, and some very familiar new local owners have already started to rework the restaurant inside.

The corner restaurant’s new tenants are none other than Vincent Kinne and partner Mindy, who ownthe cafe and evening wine spot Met Her at a Baracross the street. That cafe has, in its own right, become a staple for the nearby Mid-City and Mid-Wilshire communities, and now they’re planning to jump just a few feet away with a second food-focused project.

The new project is called, appropriately enough,Met Him at a Bar. Kinne tells Eater that Met Him will focus more on dinner food, including a handmade pasta bar in view of the dining room as well as beer and wine. They’re hoping to flip the space relatively quickly, with hopes to open in November if the remodel goes alright. Dinner hours will run daily from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., with a Saturday and Sunday brunch to boot.

Met Him at a Bar. 801 S. La Brea Ave., Los Angeles.
