Pizzeria lands in Grosse Pointe Park soon
A new restaurant calledthe Bricksspecializing in Neapolitan pizzas is heading to Grosse Pointe Park this summer. Owner and chefTrenton Chamberlainis behind the new project at 15201 Kercheval Ave., which will serve pizzas made with naturally fermented dough made with “stone-milled ancient grains,” according to a release.The Bricksis on track to debut in July and is currently in the process of hiring its opening team including several key bar and kitchen management positions.
Indian street food favorite returns
Beloved Indian restaurantNeehee’shas reopened its doors in Canton following a renovation and expansion thatbeganin January. The formerly cramped dining room at the vegetarian restaurant appears to havedoubled in sizeand now features new tables, chairs, and televisions throughout. Neehee’s also operates a location in Troy and recently added an outpost in Columbus, Ohio, soon.
Juice bar chain expands to another ‘burb
Fast-growing juice bar chainBeyond Juicehas opened another metro Detroit outpost in Northville at 20450 Haggerty Rd. The company plans to open a whopping eight more locations in 2019.
Food hall beverage director moves on
Southwest Detroit’s Vietnamese-influenced restaurantFlowers of Vietnamhas hired bartenderMarlowe Johnson, formerly beverage director atFort Street GalleyandCandy Bar, as its new beverage director. Starting June 11, he will be revamping the cocktail menu to further complement the restaurant’s Southeast Asian cuisine. Customers can expect drinks such as the Shoshin Grove with white port, pisco, tangerine, lime acid, and tonic and the Moon Over You with cachaca, aperitivo, mint tea, honey, and cucumber.
“Asian-inspired” restaurant opens downtown this week
Pao Detroit— a clubby, “Asian-inspired” restaurant that sounds a lot likeTao— is slated to begin host an invitation-only opening Wednesday, June 12, followed by a grand opening,Crain’sreports. The restaurant occupies a 3,500-square-foot, two-level space in the Briggs Houze apartment building off Grand Circus Park.
