Other items were custom designed by local and Midwestern craftsmen. "We did a lot to try to keep the energy local," Gaines says. As a minority, woman-owned business in Detroit, Pure Vin's owners desire to create an welcoming environment. "What we didn't want to do is be luxurious and uninviting," she explains.
