A new decade begins at the stroke of midnight Tuesday, and D.C. restaurants and bars are pulling out all the stops to make the milestone night a memorable one.

New Year’s Eve parties traditionally get customers to cough up $100 or more. While three-figure ticket prices are alive and well, there’s also plenty of no-cover options and events with a la carte drinks and bites, too. Free Champagne at midnight is a given.

Pro tip: earlier dinner seatings are typically cheaper, and many meals below don’t include tax or gratuity — so be sure to graciously tip anyone who’s working through the festivities.
