Koe Wetzel’s Riot Room doesn’t have an opening date, but it is hiring

A man with a bun holds his fingers to his temples, his tongue out.

After astray tweetfloated out from a Fort Worth resident with a photo, country blogs reportedthat Texas country artist Koe Wetzel is opening a bar in downtown Fort Worth called the Riot Room.

And there seems to be some truth to it: the websiteKoe Wetzel’s Riot Roomis live with a list of jobs it’s hiring for that cover everything from bartenders to line cooks. No date is listed for the opening as of yet. Eater Dallas reached out to his reps for comment.

Wetzel just released a single last week with Kodak Black and Diplo called “Wasted.” Right on theme for a guy with a bar, eh?

While country musicians opening bars in Nashville has been so prolific that it’s almost expected now, withGarth BrooksandEric Churchplotting openings in the last year, Texas country stars, and certainly not those from the greater DFW area, have returned to grace our towns with any similar treatment. Perhaps Wetzel is starting a trend.
