Learn about Mexican twists on French classics with an interactive Cinco de Mayo Cooking demonstration by Patricio Sandoval tonight at Mercadito. The restaurant will also be offering a Brunch Fiesta on Saturday, and an All-Day Fiesta on Sunday featuring food specials, Bloody Mary and Margarita Brunch bottles and live music.

Double down on the craziness and excitement this weekend at the Cinco de Derby Party taking place at The Fifty/50. On Saturday, Wild Turkey shots and drinks will be $5 while Sunday specials include $4 Corona bottles and $5 Cazadores shots.

There is no better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo than with Moonshine’s once-a-year outdoor Taco Bar featuring marinated skirt steak and chicken, a selection of tortillas and fixings, and unique hot sauces ($2 per taco). Wash the grub down with $5 Milagro Margaritas and $3 Tecate cans, hang out on the patio and win prizes in the piñata bashing contests.

Go hog wild and make a mess at BBQ Pinata Punishment! The festivities start at 5 p.m. when one lucky guest will have the opportunity to go to bat on a BBQ meat-stuffed piñata. Afterwards, stuff yourself on special $12 pulled pork or chicken BBQ enchiladas, $3 Pacificos, $5 margaritas, $4 Altos Blanco tequila and $15 sangria pitchers.

Paul McGee’s The Mexican Firing Squad cocktail ($10)— a frozen combination of Corazon Blanco tequila, pomegranate, lime and angostura—is the perfect libation for Cinco de Mayo. Follow it up by digging into a specialty dish created just for the day, BBQ tacos featuring chipotle-rubbed and hickory smoked Berkshire pork shoulder carnitas served with charred tomato salsa, crispy corn tortillas, refried black beans and rice.

Put on your best hats and celebrate all weekend for the Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo. Saturday specials include $4 Woodford Reserve shots and mint juleps, and 20% off Lillie’s Q BBQ pulled pork pizzas. Then come back on Sunday for $4 Cazadores shots, $4 5 Rabbit, 5 Lizard and 5 Vulture beers, and 20% off all Roots’ signature Taco pizzas.
