Sure, by now news has spread that a plannedTarget, inside the former Fox & Obel space in Streeterville, has applied for a liquor license. That likely means the store will serve booze for a drinky break for shoppers.
While Target has remained mum— they haven't returned emails or calls — to confirm if this will be their first store that serves liquor, it's not exactly a new concept for Chicagoans. There are plenty of other shops that allow for this novelty, so no one needs to wait for Target. Here's a list of stores that allow customers to drink at the same place they shop. This list doesn't include slashies (small liquor store/bar hybrids). No disrespect intended.
