Months after many other states took action to temporarily allow the sale of cocktails with takeout orders, Massachusetts hasfinally come around, despite the bill stalling in the Senate for over a month. (Beer and wine sales with takeout orders現在已經被允許幾個月。)
Now, customers can order up to two cocktails per entree (no more than a total volume of 64 liquid ounces) with takeout orders. Restaurants and bars must provide the cocktails in some kind of sealed container, and the alcohol-to-mixer volume must be equal to what it would be for on-premises consumption.
The new legislation took effect on July 20, and many local restaurants are quickly getting their takeout cocktail selections up and running; see details on a sampling of Boston-area venues below that are either already offering takeout cocktails or will be adding them to the menu within the next few days.
Please note that a number of Boston restaurants have resumed dine-in service, and the level of service offered is indicated on each map point. However, this should not be taken as endorsement for dining in, as there are still safety concerns: For updated information on coronavirus cases in the area, please visit theMassachusetts coronavirus website.
Studies indicate that there is a lower exposure risk when outdoors, but the level of risk involved with patio dining is contingent on restaurants following strict social distancing and other safety guidelines.
